WHERE I COME FROM

Bacchus O. J. Rolle is the son of the late Rev. Victor Andrew Rolle and Evangelist Lolamae Rolle (nee Rigby.) He has an older sibling, Theus and they grew up in a Christian home where values, morals, and integrity were watched words. As a young boy, he spent most of his summers in either Mangrove Cay, Andros, or Clarence Town, Long Island.  It was in Long Island where he was endeared to the Anglican faith as he assisted his grandfather, the late Cathecist Ulrick Rigby, with preparation for Sunday mass and midweek services.

 

To date, Bacchus is an ardent member of St. Ambrose Anglican Church. He is a member of the Anglican Church Men (ACM); he and his wife co-chair the Marriage Ministry, he serves on the guild of St. Ambrose, is a licensed Chalice Bearer and is a past member of the Vestry. Next to God, family is the most important aspect of his life. He and his wife Kimberley have been married for 22 years and have two sons, Dionysius (18) and Derryus (8)

 

An avid sportsman who represented The Bahamas from as early as little league baseball and continued all the way to the senior men's national basketball teams, sports has been intricately interwoven throughout his lifespan. He currently is the Head coach of the University of The Bahamas' Men basketball team, where he has turned that program around from basement dwellers to consistent winners. He continues to give back to the community through the many organizations he serves on including, but not limited to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., One Family Junkanoo, and Community Organization, Lodge St. Michael 1634 S.C. In every aspect of his life, he has been a leader; whether it is sports, civic and community life, church, family, or other. He can always be found at the forefront advocating, leading, and offering his assistance where needed.

A THRIVING CAREER

Bacchus has a distinguished career in business and finance having worked in the industry for almost 30 years. The majority of his professional career was spent within a commercial banking institution having worked his way up from an entry position to Senior Corporate Manager. Bacchus served in several senior capacities in the area of debt recovery, risk analysis, and credit and collections. He worked at Citibank, Commonwealth Bank, First Caribbean International Bank, and Bank of The Bahamas.

 

It was during his 16-year tenure at Bahamas Power and Light, however, where he found his greatest fulfillment in working with the ordinary person, providing assistance to many with care and compassion while maintaining his responsibilities to his place of employment. Currently, Bacchus is the President of Rolle 2 Rolle Credit Solutions and resolves relationship matters between borrowers and lenders.
